Check the Organization > Orders page in the Mitel Connect Portal to ensure that there are no initial pending orders for your CLOUD account. If there are initial pending orders, a Mitel staff member must close these orders before Mitel Connect HYBRID Sites can be enabled.   X

In the Email Address field in Connect Director for Mitel Connect ONSITE, each user should have a valid, unique email address.

X

X

X

In Connect Director the values specified for each user in the Client username field must be unique and in a fully qualified format (an email address). You can enforce the fully qualified format on the Synchronization page in Connect Director by specifying that the system should either replace the client username with the email address or append a domain name.

A telephony-enabled Mitel Connect CLOUD account and a Mitel Connect ONSITE system are required. To order a telephony-enabled Mitel Connect CLOUD account and the Mitel Connect HYBRID Sites feature, contact your partner, your CLOUD account manager, or Mitel Sales. A Mitel specialist will contact you to review the requirements and schedule the project.

X

To ensure that email addresses and extensions are unique across Mitel Connect ONSITE and Mitel Connect CLOUD installations, before Connect HYBRID Synchronization is activated export the user information from the Mitel Connect ONSITE system and provide it to your Mitel project manager so that any overlaps can be addressed. You can use the Export function on the Users page in Connect Director to export the user data.

XXX

Before Build 21.84.5500.0, only four-digit extensions could be used in the Mitel Connect ONSITE and Mitel Connect CLOUD systems underlying Connect HYBRID Sites.  With Build 21.84.5500.0 and higher, five-digit extensions are supported, provided that the Connect ONSITE account is set to use five-digit extensions and the new Connect CLOUD account resides on an instance that supports five-digit extensions.

X

On-Net Dialing cannot be enabled in Mitel Connect ONSITE.

X

The Mitel Connect ONSITE system cannot include overlapping off-system extension ranges.  X

Dial plans for both Mitel Connect ONSITE and Mitel Connect CLOUD must be identical.

X

Depending on whether the Connect CLOUD instance supports four-digit extensions or five-digit extensions, one of the following extension ranges cannot be used in Connect ONSITE because these extensions are reserved for system extensions in Connect CLOUD:

  • Extensions 39990-39999 (in Connect CLOUD instances that support five-digit extensions)

  • Extensions 8990-8999 (in Connect CLOUD instances that support four-digit extensions)

Mitel recommends that all the SIP trunks on certain switch models, if used, be dedicated for Mitel Connect HYBRID Sites. For details, see SIP Trunk Media Proxy Capacity for Connect HYBRID Sites.

  X

SIP trunks must be pre-allocated on the dedicated switch or switches in Connect ONSITE. The number of SIP trunks to allocate for Mitel Connect HYBRID Sites depends on the expected call volume between Mitel Connect CLOUD and Mitel Connect ONSITE users. (For example, if a system has 50 Connect CLOUD users and at peak times 20 percent of these users would simultaneously call Mitel Connect ONSITE users, the SIP trunk capacity should be 50 * .2 = 10.)

In addition, media proxies must be explicitly enabled for the SIP trunks. For details, see SIP Trunk Media Proxy Capacity for Connect HYBRID Sites.

X

The switch or switches on which the SIP trunks are allocated for Mitel Connect HYBRID Sites must have a proper DNS setting so that they can resolve the tietrunk.sky.shoretel.com FQDN, which allows the connection for the trunks in Mitel Connect CLOUD. For more information, see Configuring DNS on Voice Switches.

  X

For builds earlier than 21.77.7418.0, Media encryption must be enabled in Mitel Connect ONSITE. (In Connect Director, on the Administration > Features > Call Control > Options page, set the Media encryption option to SRTP - 128 bit AES.) Starting with build 21.77.7418.0, media encryption is optional.

X

Phone numbers must be allocated in the Mitel Connect CLOUD system. (Phone numbers are also sometimes referred to as DIDs or TNs.)
