ShoreTel Connect CLOUD supports the Grandstream HT503 Analog Telephone Adapter for the specific purposes listed below:

NOTE: Not all Overhead Paging Systems or Door Buzzer Systems are compatible with the Grandstream HT503. Be sure to discuss with your IT partner or consultant to learn more information about device compatibility.

The Grandstream HT503 is a versatile ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) that is supported by the ShoreTel Connect CLOUD phone system. This device enables an analog device to interact with a VoIP phone system. This ATA works well with paging systems and door buzzers.NOTE: The Grandstream HT503 ATA device can technically be used for analog telephones, but because of an issue that degrades the quality of calls that are 30 minutes or longer in duration, we cannot recommend the this ATA for use with any analog phones.

Note that the Grandstream HT503 ATA device has only one connection for an analog device If you have questions about the Grandstream device, contact ShoreTel Support.

NOTE: The Grandstream HT503 ATA firmware version certified for use with ShoreTel Connect CLOUD is 1.0.14.1. It is recommended that any Grandstream HT503 ATA devices used with ShoreTel Connect CLOUD are equipped with this firmware version or later.

Setting Up the Grandstream HT503 ATA

Use the following instructions to set up a Grandstream HT503 ATA and access the web interface for the ATA device.

  1. Plug in the power cable and connect the WAN port to the network.
  2. Plug in the door buzzer/paging device into the PHONE port.
  3. Pickup the analog phone and press *** to access the configuration menu.
  4. Press 02 to hear the IP address, then press #.
  5. Press 12 and then 9 to enable web access from the WAN, then press #.
  6. In the address bar of any web browser, type the IP address of the device and then press Enter.

    The admin log in page is displayed.

  7. Log in using admin as the password.

Configuring the Grandstream HT503 ATA

  1. Use the following instructions to configure a Grandstream HT503 ATA device.
  2. In the address bar of any web browser, type the IP address of the device and then press Enter.
  3. The admin log in page is displayed.
  4. Log in using admin as the password.
  5. Select the FXS-Port tab, and configure the settings as follows:
    • Account Active: Yes
    • Primary SIP Server:
      • US/Canada: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.com
      • UK/Europe: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.eu
      • Australia: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.com.au
    • Outbound Proxy: 
      • US/Canada: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.com
      • UK/Europe: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.eu
      • Australia: 3psbc.sky.shoretel.com.au
    • SIP Transport: TLS
    • SIP User ID: Enter 1+ the 10-digit phone number of the connected phone
    • Authenticate ID: Re-enter 1+ the 10-digit phone number of the connected phone
    • Authenticate Password: Enter the user's SIP password.
    • Name: Enter the display name for the phone
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Select the Advanced Settings tab, and configure the settings as follows:
    • NTP Server:
      • Off-net: pool.ntp.org
      • On-net: Enter the IP address of the voice gateway.
  8. Click Apply, and then reboot the ATA device.
